Boris Smolnikov Biography
Viktorov, B. Smolnikov and V. from for the year V. Palmov was the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mechanics and did a lot to preserve the traditions of physical education in transition. Vladimir Alexandrovich was engaged in a wide range of tasks in the field of mechanics of a deformable solid body, theory of fluctuations in unlucky bodies, the theory of determining equations, the dynamics and strength of machines, computing mechanics and composites mechanics.
He is the author of 6 monographs, 9 textbooks and near scientific and scientific and methodological works. In the year, Vladimir Alexandrovich was elected a member of the national now - the Russian National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Palmov made a significant contribution to Russian and world science in the field of continuous media mechanics, created an authoritative scientific school.
Of particular note is the teaching gift of V. Many generations of Polytechnic-pro-officials listened to general lecture courses for the theory of elasticity, plasticity, and the mechanics of thin-walled bodies that Vladimir Alexandrovich brilliantly read. Among his students, the Doctor of Sciences and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, more than 40 candidate dissertations were defended under his leadership.
For outstanding merits in the year, V. Palmov was awarded the honorary title “Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation”. In different years, he gave lecture courses in the disciplines “Theory of elasticity”, “Theory of oscillations”, “Machine dynamics”, “Theory of stability of movement”, “Analytical mechanics”, “Dynamics of solid body”, “Optimization of mechanical systems”, “History of mechanics”.
Boris Aleksandrovich Smolnikov performs at a solemn meeting dedicated to the lady of A. Lurie the year Boris Alexandrovich took part in the work of all all -Union later all -Russian congresses on theoretical and applied mechanics, as well as numerous conferences on the theory of vibrations, the theory of sustainability and problems of the management of mechanical systems.
The areas of his scientific interests are associated with the development of methods for the study of fluctuations in mechanical systems, the construction of optimal control modes of rotational and progressive movements of artificial Earth satellites, the study of mechanics of working movements of robots and manipulators, and issues of biomechanics of living organisms. On this basis, he formulated new concepts and principles of the theory of optimal management of mechanical systems - biomorphic control, collinear control, orthogonal control.
In the area of the dynamics of the solid body, he investigated the problems of the stability of gyrostats and introduced the concept of evolutionary dynamics. He also offers a new formula for a dissipative function, taking into account the influence of internal friction on the rotational movement of free solids and gyrostats. And now, in the year of the anniversary, Boris Alexandrovich continues active teaching and scientific activities.
Since the year, Evgeny Dmitrievich has been an associate professor of the newly created department “Computing Mathematics” later - the Department of Applied Mathematics, now as part of the Higher School of Applied Mathematics and Computing Physics. Evgeny Dmitrievich developed unique, if not the first course “Functional analysis” for technical universities, at that time, is one of the basic courses for working with numerical methods.
The course was favorably different from similar courses taught in many technical universities in the country, the depth of consideration of the material. It is noteworthy that these rather complicated courses have never been for students “nightmares”. The amazing quality of a real teacher - Evgeny Dmitrievich always managed to captivate, interest, even fall in love with students to the science that they had to master.
Evgeny Dmitrievich Viktorov performs at a solemn meeting dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the Department of Applied Mathematics, a year. On the left is the president of St. Petersburg State University Yuri Sergeevich Vasiliev, in the center-the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mechanics Sergei Nikolaevich Kolgatin during many years of activity at the Department of Applied Mathematics Evgeny Dmitrievich was a participant in a large number of scientific projects.
One of the last ones in which his talent, erudition, ingenuity manifested itself especially brightly was a project made in the interests of Airbus. Evgeny Dmitrievich’s proposal to describe the task of assembling the aircraft as the task of quadratic programming made it possible to create tools that significantly reduced the time to obtain the result in comparison with other existing software tools of the same orientation in the world.
Even now, leaving teaching and active scientific activities, Evgeny Dmitrievich did not refuse to cooperate with his students. He is vividly interested in all the problems that his colleagues solve; His criticism, comments, tips are heard with great attention and are appreciated extremely high.
