General Omarov was one of the most consistent and implacable fighters against political and criminal crime.
All major special operations against the terrorist underground were prepared and carried out under his leadership. The name of the general caused hatred among terrorists. In May, an attempt was made on the general’s life - a landmine was blown up on the path of his car, Omarov was wounded and shell -shocked. But the second attempt turned out to be fatal - on February 2, in Makhachkala, the general’s car was shot by a group of terrorists from automatic weapons.
Major General Omarov and three police officers who were in the car died on the spot. He was buried in his native village. There, the hero was erected to the hero.
