Formally, Bolshevik Street was formed at the very beginning of the 20th century, uniting several oldest streets of the city. But the future Red Army remained the 1st Assumption. In addition, by the name of the church, the entire low area of Saransk was called the Assumption part. The Bolsheviks with their transformations deprived of any connection with Orthodoxy, as a result of which it became a patriotic Red Army. The communist when it was founded: presumably at the end of the 17th century, the names changed: the 2nd Pokrovskaya-Pokrovsky Lane-Voznesenskaya Street-Communist Lane is the exact date of occurrence, as in many other cases is unknown.
