Annie entered the Royal Music Academy, in which she stopped training a few weeks before the issuance of a diploma. She began to work on a car wash until a friend introduced her to David Stuart, who became Annie's close friend. For some time they maintained a romantic relationship, but then, when Lennox and Stewart broke up, they formed The Tourists group.
This project did not achieve much commercial success; at the same time, critics appreciated the debut work of young musicians. Eurythmics was formed in the year, which positioned itself as a duet. Now Annie Lennox and David Stewart clearly held the border among themselves - regular participants in the team - and third -party musicians. In the year, the first album of the duet was released - in the Garden, which demonstrated a bizarre mixture of electrical sex, melancholic texts and phenomena in the style of the German group Kraftwerk.
