Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov is a Russian poet who, in his verses about peasants, challenged serfdom in Rus'. His life path cannot be called simple. However, the poverty and misunderstanding of people close to him, a long search for their place in literature and different people who met on the path of Nekrasov, nevertheless helped him become a folk poet of the Russian Empire.

At this time, Nikolai understands that he is not interested in military affairs, but science. Father was against education, but Nekrasov is still preparing for entrance exams at the university.
Nikolai could not pass exams, but became a free listener of the Faculty of Philology. The father deprives his son financial support, and Nekrasov is forced to independently look for both work and housing. Sometimes a young man could not afford even lunch, and once even ended up in a shelter for the poor, where he wrote complaints and petitions for money.
Nikolai Nekrasov and the editorial board of “domestic notes”, the beginning of the literary activity of Nekrasov in the early X Nekrasov began to live better - work and a little earnings appeared. At this time, he writes poetry and fairy tales in the popular style of cheap and simple books, and his articles are printed in the Literary Newspaper. Nekrasov gives private lessons and composes plays by order of the Alexandrinsky Theater.

In the year, Nikolai Nekrasov, together with a friend, works in the famous Pushkin magazine "Contemporary". For several years, he serves the position of the editor there, and he himself is actively published there. Soon the magazine "Contemporary is closed", and Nekrasov goes to work in the journal "Domestic Notes". At the same time, the author works on his famous poem “To whom to live well in Rus'”.
